2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 1.5L

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon is a remarkable wine, produced from an unusually cool, yet exceptional vintage. Because the growing season began so late and temperatures remained so much cooler than usual, this Cabernet is fresh, bright, and elegant and holds a special place in the cellar for its finesse, personality, and ability to age well.

The aromas begin with concentrated dark plum, boysenberry, and cassis. Classic Cabernet notes of tobacco, cedar, and spice weave their way throughout the fruit characters. A good bit of Merlot and a tiny measure of Petit Verdot contribute complexity and lushness. This is a beautiful Cabernet that finishes long and silky with fine-grained luxurious tannins and a note of vanilla and earthy cinnamon.  It is an elegantly powerful Cabernet that is a true expression of the traditional Abeja style.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
"Tasted pre-release, this is already extraordinary, especially for this challenging vintage. The fruit (from Heather Hill, Kiona and Sagemoor) is dense, dark and detailed – an immaculate and thrilling wine, loaded with cassis, smoke and chocolate. The concentration, balance and length put it among the best Washington Cabernets of the vintage." Wine Enthusiast, 94 pts. "A Look Back at 2011's Best Washington Wines - #18" Washington Wine Report
