A captivatingly rich and concentrated profile immediately recalls the thick-skinned mountain fruit that comes from Skysill Vineyard’s remarkable 1,400 ft elevation site, where deep, intricate flavors and intense aromatics of fig, licorice, violets, earth, and cocoa can fully develop throughout the extended growing season.
 
The significant diurnal shift at the site contributes lively blue-toned fruits to a deeply colored glass and locks in the critical acidity for this age-worthy wine.
 
The vineyard’s southerly aspect and loess soil bring supple, velvety tannins, yielding an extraordinary texture that has been expertly crafted with elegance and finesse.
 
After careful selection, the finest seven barrels of the season spent 31 months in French oak. With 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot, this exceptional bottling is a worthy successor to our inaugural, 100 pt. vintage.

The 2021 vintage will be remembered for deeply colored, flavorful grapes that produced age-worthy wines with great concentration and balance. Following a warm spring, a record heat wave hit in late June and sent temperatures soaring. The weather remained hot into late August before finally cooling, setting the stage for ideal harvest conditions. Fall weather was perfect, with the Columbia Valley’s typical pattern of warm days and cool nights ripening grapes beautifully.
